Last preparations for the international contest are on the go

(Iserlohn, 03/05/09) In the collegiate organisation office the last preparations for the international student competition Rubicon Contest 2009 have started. The organisational team is taking care for last details like the schedule for the airport pick ups or pullovers for participants from tropical countries. 80 participating students from 25 nations along with members of the press and representatives from sponsors will visit the Campus Seilersee of the Business and Information Technology School (BiTS) Iserlohn, Germany, for three days.

The countdown has started, when the competition commences on 9th of March. Till then the organisating students of BiTS arrange the last details of the program and schedules that the three days of the Rubicon Contest will run smoothly. “On 7th of March, when we will welcome the first participants from Canada, everything is sorted out,” says Tim Teetz (21), who is in contact with all teams, competing in this year's Rubicons. “Sometimes are the question we get a little strange on the first sight. But organising an international event also means to take them serious”, he adds.

The organisers were asked by a team from Malaysia, if it is possible to buy pullovers on Sunday after their arrival. They are not familiar with the low temperatures in Germany, and do not have seasonal changes. But on Sunday the shops are closed in Germany. Hence the Rubicon team asked the local fashion department store B&U Heutelbeck to provide pullovers for the guests.

Rubicon Contest is autonomously organized by students of the Business and Information Technology School (BiTS), focusing on business students from all over the world. From March 9th till 11th the event will be hosted on “Campus Seilersee” in Iserlohn. This year's topic is “Green Business Management”. Participants are going to compete in a computer simulation, as well as case studies and business plans.
