Searching for support A special event requires special actions. In order to make the Rubicon Contest 2010 an unforgettable event for everybody, but especially the participants, I have been the last weeks searching for supporting companies. All companies, that might be able to support us, whether monetarily or free products (e.g. electronics, beverage, or sweets) are receiving calls from me. Quite often my requests are clearly declined, due to several reasons: some do not support associations or events and some are struggling with their financial situation.

A nice dinner by Aline Richter on February 23rd 2010 Besides the competition, there are two important issues - accommodation and food. Together with Malin, I am trying to take care of them. Apparently it sounds simple, but there are a lot of stumbling blocks. It is our responsibility that the participants enjoy not only the competition but also our catering. 100 persons with 100 different tastes and preferences. Some like fish, others don’t, some want to eat noodles and someone else prefers potatoes...

Preparing OPEX by Stefan Gresch on February 15th 2010 Last Saturday, six members of the Rubicon organizational team, Nelli, Malte, Philipp, Tobias, Florian and I, were testing the OPEX business simulation. We spent about twelve hours here at BiTS University to make sure that everything works fine – and it definitely does, even though it is quite tough.
