Spammed by Facebook.

Actually, I thought the mails would stop after the contest.

But as it turns out, I was wrong.

Now they no longer arrive at Rubicon, but at gmail. Approximately 60 automatically created mails arrived since Thursday and there is no end in sight. Our credo seems to be true, as everyone is “becoming friends” – at least in Facebook. Lots of pictures are tagged and walls filled with messages.

InboxWith no more organizing to do, I was able to drive off into a mini vacation at my parents’ house. One week of free time before the next semester starts. No caring about dishes, clothes or food, just relaxing and letting other people, my beloved family, do all the work.

Spending all day either in the garden, a couch or my bed I was able not only to read novels and catch up on sleeping, but also “stalk” almost every participant via Facebook. I actually never used Facebook so intensively and I’m amazed how sophisticated it is, in comparison to our German “studivz”(student registry). It’s so easy to keep in touch.

And that is what is most important. I’m certain Facebook is just the beginning, and actual friendships will be developing over the next couple of months. That is why I can be sure, that Rubicon 2009 was a huge success.
