The neighbour's visit

We are not the only collegiate initiative at the university. There is a whole variety of collegiate departments, there is for example BiTSLicht, our university magazine, or BiTS2Society, a department doing community work. The most famous is the Campus Symposium, which is organising a conference in summer. Speakers were in 2006 former US-President Bill Clinton, in 2007 UN General Secretary Kofi Annan and recently 2008 the former German chancellor Gerhard Schröder and former Polish president Nobel Prize winner Lech Walesa. 2006 and 2007 Rubicon and the Campus Symposium were taking place in the same week – we do not only share the same campus.

A little bit later the first SingStar-songs where playing. Undiscovered talents showed their abilities to sing, in the Rubicon team as well as in the Campus Symposium team. If a very high score at Britney Spears song “Hit me baby one more time” is a achievement or an outing to be a fan, is in the perspective of somebody else.

In the beginning nearly nobody was eager to sing, but with the time flying by the microphones were changing between the singers at an increasing frequency. Till everybody started to sing the hymn of the region, the so called “Sauerland”-song. Without any lyrics but it would be quite successful on the next season of “Singing Bee”. The final climax of every SingStar evening was still missing but coming up: A re-enactment of the “idol” shows. Everybody got a recall.

Probably this re-enactment will not be popular on TV, because the competition was missing. After a draw in singing, we all decide to move a little bit. The final decision which team is the best had to be chosen with tennis, bowling and boxing. Anyway we were sitting for a long time in the office, so the Wii was activated. The draw was inevitable between both teams. The prizes for us were sore muscles on the next day while we have a look at the applications.
