Team Management as it should be

For two weeks we have been working with full enthusiasm towards making the Rubicon Contest 2009 happen. My task: Team Management. The exchange with international students and universities is what makes this field particularly interesting to me.

It might sound pretty pretentious, but the future of nations and corporations depends on the unification of even the most different cultures, technologies and innovations. This can only be achieved by dismantling international and cultural barriers. We contribute directly to this by creating networks between future entrepreneurs, universities and corporations around the globe. That is for sure.

A friend recently said to me that working in a student-run initiative is „easy-going“. She is wrong. The organization of the contest is more than a full-time job and demands commitment and dedication from all of us. We still have more than a month until the event and it is just the second week since the big „kick-off“. But you do not do anything on your own, team-work is one of the main pillars Rubicon is built on. Asking a short question , lending a helping hand – it is the small things without which we wouldn’t be able to go on.

But all in all I am still responsible for the Team Management and my goal remains the same: to get rid of any potential roadblocks the international students partaking in the contest might face. Not only the organizers, but also the participants, must work together as a team in order to be successful. Finally our goal is to create an everlasting experience for all of us.
