The time, my boots and I

The alarm bell rings, having a shower, getting dressed, blowing-dry the hair and quickly eating a bowl of cereals. That is how nearly every morning goes before going to work to organise the Rubicon Contest. There is some alternation through the weather, and just today it is really bad. The way I take to get to the office is covered with snow slush, in addition a drizzling rain.

The shoesTherefore, the bicycle will be left in the basement and the umbrella will have its run. I close the door of the house and I am about to start. I start thinking... Did I took everything? why the hell are my feet getting cold... I got my laptop computer, the charger, money, mobile phone... are my feet all the time that cold in those boots... What do I have to finish today in the office? At first check the emails than work on the case study... Hold on a second, my feet are not only cold, they are soaking wet. Dammit.

Still are 15 minutes of walking ahead. So what, turn up the music on the iPod and slightly annoyed along the road. Why cannot anybody clear the way of all that snow? Damn weather! After it felt like two litres of water gathered in my shoes, I reach the university. It is a revenge for not taking some time to buy new shoes.

Thankfully the office is heated. Immediately I toss the boots in the corner with a certain anger. My socks are so wet that the they can be wrung out. The carpeted floor in our storey of the building is a blessing and allows to work just in socks. About six hours later, early than usual, because otherwise the chance that the opening hours of the will not meet my demand for shoes is quite high. For the last time I am leaving the office with my old shoes. Yasmin is taking me with her car into the city centre. After getting there I head directly for the next shoe store. 20% on all winter boots! Perfect! After 20 minutes I selected my new wonderful pair of boots and wore them already as I left the store. In a good mood I went directly home, passed by a shop window. Oh, look at this. Luckly today, I have some time to shop...
