A nice dinner

Besides the competition, there are two important issues - accommodation and food. Together with Malin, I am trying to take care of them. Apparently it sounds simple, but there are a lot of stumbling blocks. It is our responsibility that the participants enjoy not only the competition but also our catering. 100 persons with 100 different tastes and preferences. Some like fish, others don’t, some want to eat noodles and someone else prefers potatoes...

Of course, we could get a room, put up enough chairs and tables in there and just offer the participants a standard meal. Nobody will enjoy this dinner or lunch, the taste of the food would not matter at all. One thing would be missing: Table cloth, flowers, cards, sort of the decoration, all in all the entire ambiance. Also we need service personell, it will not be very polite asking the participants to take care of their dishes on their own – an absolute “no go”, as we say in Germany, at a nice dinner.

I am pretty sure, you all will enjoy the event I set up with Malin and all the other members of the organizational team – The only thing I am afraid of is, that I won’t have not enough time to enjoy. You know, there is always something to organize, but when I look at our detailed event schedule... I probably shouldn’t be afraid.
