What you are looking for in the ultimate team is what “Farmers” is. It is evident that the people of Rubicon are looking for a team which values internationalism; a team which has talent; a team which possesses diversity. Can we proudly say we have it … all? We too, value the international experience and networks. Three of our team members are international students who decided to enter the Sauder School of Business at UBC because we share the common values of the school: Opening Worlds. And to further to continue our paths to the world, our team is going and have gone on an international exchange study program. Just last year, one of our members studied at the National University of Singapore while another went to the University of Warwick in the UK. And how about the other two? Don’t worry, they have been nominated to a Europe summer exchange program in 2009. Undoubtedly, the challenges that we have overcome during our international experiences have trained us to be elite individuals who are capable of overcoming all obstacles with determination and confidence. We know that these extraordinary experiences expose you to an incredible amount of knowledge, life-time memories, and self-improvement. Each of us is very different in all areas when it comes down to personality, strengths, and interests. Perhaps it was some magical chemistry which brought us together since Day 1 of our university lives. And already since then, we have been working as a team, learning about each other, and playing off the strengths and weaknesses of us all to create our super team. So exactly how diversified is our team? We have Sandy who is a person filled with determination, confidence, and leadership charisma. She's our outgoing spokesperson who is constantly bouncing off the walls (not literally). We have our Finance major, Li, who has the calm mind to analyze details a second time over. Her cool personality gives her mysterious and curious layer to her appearance. Next, we have Persephone who is our research fanatic and is on a constant lookout for market trends (and fashion trends in between). Last but not least, we have our Marketing major, Elyn, who is our strategic wizard when it comes down to making decisions (business decisions and what-kind-of-outfit-to-wear-to-dinner decisions). As a team, we bring together a unique and unforeseen combination of strengths and qualities which can not be found even if you tried. We aren't four people put together for this occasion. Our four bodies have become one mind throughout the years and we know, that this is valuable as with any rare commodities. Honestly, the biography of our team is just too long to be presented here. What happened during our exchange program? What happened since the day we left our parents to come to a foreign place? How have we come to be? Perhaps this has given just a little insight to who we are, what we value, and what we can do. Perhaps you should see for yourselves what “Farmers” is truly capable of doing, truly made out of. For a fact, we know that people who possess international experiences are a rare, rare find. We have started to pursue in what we believe in. Rubicon 2009, is what we need in order to build on it. |
